2026 COACHING UPDATE
Author: South Fremantle Football Club
The South Fremantle Football Club is pleased to announce a refreshed and strengthened coaching and support structure for the 2026 season, featuring several exciting appointments across the senior men’s program, with more to come.
After an impressive year as an assistant coach in 2025, Shaun Sullivan has been appointed Reserves Head Coach for 2026. Shaun’s passion for developing young footballers, coupled with his strong football IQ and deep understanding of the Bulldogs’ program, makes him an ideal choice to lead the next generation of South Fremantle talent.
Former SFFC player Daniel Vidovich will become Head of Development while continuing in his role as Futures Head Coach. Daniel’s experience, teaching ability and strong connection with emerging players ensures our pathways remain aligned with the club’s long-term vision.
Two-time Fremantle Dockers leading goalkicker Matt Taberner will continue as Talls Coach and will also take on a game-day assistant role with the reserves’ forwards, providing invaluable expertise to our young key-position players. In the reserves program, Andrew Harman, an experienced coach across multiple levels including amateur football, joins as an Assistant Coach.
Former WAFL Essendon-listed player Danny Chartres joins the senior coaching panel as Senior Assistant Coach, working closely with Craig White. With a Colts premiership at Peel Thunder in 2020 and extensive playing experience, Danny brings significant leadership and knowledge to the program.
At league level, Cory Dell’Olio and Andrew Foster will continue as Assistant Coaches, contributing stability and experience to the senior setup. Collectively, the 2026 coaching group boasts over 1,000 games of AFL and WAFL experience, forming one of the most seasoned and well-rounded coaching teams in the competition. The group has already hit the ground running, with pre-season now in its third week.
The Club also acknowledges the outstanding service of departing coaches Ryan Cook, Brad Maney, Jack Latchford and Jarrod Parry. Their commitment to the red and white has been invaluable, and we sincerely thank them for their contribution to the development of our players and our program.
Head of Football Charlie Burke expressed his enthusiasm for the coaching group assembled for 2026.
“The additions of Daniel Vidovich, Danny Chartres and Andrew Harman will bring valuable experience and fresh energy to our program, while the expanded roles for Shaun Sullivan and Matt Taberner show our commitment to promoting from within,” Burke said.
“Their combined knowledge, strong focus on connection with players, and new ideas will only strengthen our coaching group as we continue to build on the success of 2025. They are all quality people who will help drive our standards and development into the future.”
There have also been several important updates within our high-performance and medical teams:
- Jacob Millar steps into the Head Physio role following Courtney Kranz’s appointment with the Fremantle Dockers.
- Elly Crowhurst joins as Assistant Physio, further strengthening our medical support.
- Dr Ashton May returns to SFFC as Club Doctor after a season away.
- John Ogilvie comes on board to support Petar Djanis as Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach.
- Matt Parker has accepted the role of Indigenous and Multicultural Player Development Coordinator, helping ensure our club remains an inclusive, culturally safe and supportive environment for all.
With a strong and highly experienced coaching group supported by an expanded off-field team, the senior men’s program is comprehensively resourced to give our players the best environment to perform, develop and compete at their highest level in 2026.
