AWAY DERBY ADMISSION CLARITY SOUGHT

South Fremantle Football Club is concerned about recent media and industry speculation in relation to East Fremantle Football Club’s future management of Fremantle Derbies.

Reports that East Fremantle may erect a perimeter fence only in the instance of Derby fixtures, and thus solely charging South Fremantle supporters as an opposition Club, raises genuine questions of equity and fairness for our loyal and committed fanbase.

Club President Peter Christie is clear on the Bulldog’s position, and concerned by the prospect of potentially being the only WAFL club whose fans will be charged an admission fee at the redeveloped East Fremantle ground.

“We have real issues with this mooted concept, and only Bulldogs fans being charged to access our annual away Derby at East Fremantle Oval ”

“If East Fremantle were to pursue such a ridiculous and unfair idea, why should our members and supporters alone have to pay? T hat’s not going to happen!” Christie confirmed.

South Fremantle is seeking an immediate clarification of the future admission scenario at East Fremantle and expects this information prior to the 2024 WAFL season commencing.
