FIXTURE SNAPSHOT
The 2026 season promises plenty of memorable football moments, with the WAFL and WAFLW fixtures now confirmed.
We look at some of the highlights as excitement builds across the Club and competition for what’s in store in the season ahead.
WAFLW
The WAFLW season will commence at Fremantle Community Bank Oval on Saturday, March 28, with a highly anticipated Derby against archrival East Fremantle. This clash continues to grow each season, with the Derby Cup and Vecchio-Smith Best on Ground Medal up for grabs.
The match carries added intrigue in 2026 following the off-season recruitment of former Sharks Ash Gomes, Madi Evans and Natasha Entwistle to South Fremantle.
Female matches will again be integrated into male fixtures in Round 3 (v Perth) and Round 7 (v Peel Thunder). These blockbuster home game days celebrate South Fremantle’s proud one-club philosophy.
The midpoint of the season features back-to-back clashes against some likely fellow finals contenders West Perth (Round 12, Saturday June 13) and Swan Districts (Round 13, Sunday June 21).
Both matches loom as pivotal in shaping the race for finals and momentum heading into the second half of the season.

WAFL
The historic Premiership Flag Unfurling will celebrate the Club’s 2025 Premiership – our 15th WAFL flag – on Saturday, April 11, against Perth (Round 2).
This match has been strategically scheduled during AFL Gather Round, with no local AFL fixtures in the market that weekend (or playing on Saturday), creating a prime opportunity for a bumper crowd to celebrate the Club’s success and launch the season in style. The WAFLW side will feature in a twilight fixture following the WAFL match.
Traditional rivals Claremont travel to Fremantle early in the season for a Round 3 clash on Saturday April 18, with the Colts contesting the popular twilight time slot after the League game.
The game that needs no introduction – the WA Day Derby – takes place on Monday, June 1, when the Bulldogs face cross-town rivals East Fremantle in the biggest home-and-away match on the calendar.
With a bumper television and live audience annually, the rivalry reaches 126 years in 2026, standing as one of the nation’s most enduring and fiercest football rivalries.
Supporters will have to wait until late in the season to see East Perth at home. The reigning Grand Finalists travel to the Port City in Round 18, Saturday August 8.
With the 2025 Grand Final decided by just two points, this contest is set to be tight, fierce, and unmissable.
The Bulldogs will UNLEASH in 2026.
