LETTER FROM THE CEO | 2021 GRAND FINAL

Author: South Fremantle Football Club

Here we are, in a position we have aspired to all year – Grand Final week.

Following a stirring home ground victory in our 6th consecutive Preliminary Final appearance, we advance to our 3rd consecutive WAFL Grand Final on the 40th Anniversary of our last hat-trick of Grand Finals.

But 2021 will be different to 1981, our Coaches & team will get the job done.

We are immensely proud of the considerable efforts from the many people who have contributed to our season.

Our players, coaches, support staff, administration staff, Board, our volunteer network and of course, our members, commercial partners, and fans.

We are the most supported WAFL Club in the State, and this inspires and drives us to become bigger and more successful, again.

It is cliched for some, but not for us. We are a Family, “The Premier Family Club”.

It is an inherent part of our culture, and a key part of the fabric that defines and brands our Club.

Sustained on-and-off field success, enhanced by envied stability, which delivers consistent high performance, is the holy grail of any football club. This is our Bulldog signature.

Let’s pack Optus Stadium this Saturday, and cheer home our 15th WAFL League Premiership in our 24th Grand Final in the last 75 years.

We seek to see an absolute sea of red and white for our boys – hats, scarves, beanies, polos – let’s overtly fill the Stadium with a visual representation of that Bulldog passion and pride.

Be sure to stock up on Souths gear from our Team Store.

I wish our team good luck; they’ve been magnificent all year.

Senior Coach Todd Curley will have us well prepared and ready – both physically and mentally – for the challenge that awaits us, and what about the masterclass of coaching last week in the 2021 Preliminary Final?

Most of all, I hope that our actions as a Club in 2021 have made you proud. We’ve worked very hard and have stared down any obstacle in our path – with one further special effort to come.

Grand Finals are difficult to make, harder to win, and just so tough to claim back-to-back.

We will leave nothing out there. And we do this for you.

Southerners forever more.
