Author: South Fremantle Football Club
South Fremantle has had a mighty impressive start to the 2025 WAFLW season and now looks to stay undefeated when taking on the reigning premiers Claremont on Good Friday.
The Good Friday match up for Round 4 of the WAFLW season will take place at Claremont’s Revo Fitness Stadium and will get underway from 1:10pm.
Prior to that and the day’s action begins with the Rogers Cup match up also between the Bulldogs and Tigers beginning at 11:05am.
Not only is it a big occasion to be playing on Good Friday, but the Bulldogs and Tigers are also both undefeated heightening the stakes in the match up.
South Fremantle has started life under new coach Pia Faletti in exciting fashion with wins so far against East Fremantle, Perth and Peel Thunder.
The Bulldogs will now put that undefeated record on the line against the reigning premiers Claremont who have won their first two games of 2025 as well.
The Tigers started their premiership defence with the Round 1 bye but since have entered the season with the wins against West Perth and East Fremantle.
The last meeting between the two teams was in Round 11 last year also at Revo Fitness Stadium which was a one-point thriller with Claremont ending up with the narrow win on the way to winning the premiership.
The other chance that presents for South Fremantle on Good Friday is to score a first ever WAFLW victory against Claremont.
The two teams have played one another 10 times so far since the Bulldogs joined the competition in 2020 with the Tigers having won all of those meetings.
That did include a second semi-final battle back in 2023 but the stage is set for perhaps the most anticipated contest between the Bulldogs and Tigers since that finals clash.
As South Fremantle puts its unbeaten record on the line against Claremont, Megan Bain, Hannah Blyth, Liusaidh Gilchrist, Ebony Grant, Shannyn Pomersbach and Ella Ward come into the squad for the Bulldogs.
The two players named to go out from the team that beat Peel last week are Renee Morgan and Holly Ifould.
Claremont also puts its perfect record on the line and coming off beating East Fremantle in a grand final rematch last year, the Tigers have added May Nicholson, Kate Orme, Taylah Orzel, Matilda Sergeant and Georgia Webb to take on the Bulldogs.
Going out for Claremont is Mackenzie Webb from the team that beat the Sharks last week.
The South Fremantle Rogers Cup team is also coming off a win over Peel and from that side, Leyla Holland, Chelsea Martinez, Macey McDougall, Maningning Morales and Niamh Sherry are into the squad to take on Claremont.
Going out for the Bulldogs is Imogen Stanners.
Claremont has added Ruby Bell, Sabi Jordaan, Remy Karlson, Rachel O’Malley-Suldow and Hannah Seaborn to take on the Bulldogs.
Going out for the Tigers are Lili-May Rowbotham, Gemma Musk and Chelsea Williams.
