ROUND 7 WAFLW PREVIEW V CLAREMONT

Author: South Fremantle Football Club

SOUTH Fremantle’s female football teams are back in action following a week off over Easter with the WAFLW League team playing Claremont on Saturday morning while the Reserves and Youth Girls host Swan Districts on Sunday.

The first six rounds of the WAFLW season took place prior to Easter and now following the week’s break for everyone to refresh and recharge a little, the action resumes this weekend.

For South Fremantle, that means a WAFLW League contest with Claremont on Saturday morning from 9.30am against Claremont at Revo Fitness Stadium.

South Fremantle might have still not been able to record their first WAFLW victory, but they are showing better signs of competitiveness so far in 2021 as they prepare to take on a Tigers team that currently sits in third position on the ladder having won four of their six matches.

The other two female South Fremantle teams are then in action against Swan Districts at Fremantle Community Bank Oval.

The day’s action gets underway with the Youth Girls Rogers Cup contest between the Bulldogs and Swans from 9.15am at Fremantle Community Bank Oval.

South Fremantle’s Youth Girls team are the reigning premiers but currently sit in fifth position on the ladder after the opening six rounds of the 2021 season.

But they could break back into the top four potentially with a win against Swan Districts on Sunday morning on home turf. Swans currently sits in sixth position on the Rogers Cup ladder having won two of their six matches so far this season.

Then it will be time for the WAFLW Reserves fixture between South Fremantle and Swan Districts from 11am on Sunday at Fremantle Community Bank Oval.

It should be a fascinating contest as well with South Fremantle currently sitting in fourth position on the Reserves ladder with a 3-2 record while Swan Districts is on top of the table having won four of their five matches.
