SULLIVAN JOINS RESERVES COACHING GROUP

Author: South Fremantle Football Club

South Fremantle Football Club is pleased to welcome Shaun Sullivan to the senior men’s coaching team as Assistant Coach of the Reserves side.

Shaun steps into the role following the departure of Chris O’Connor, who has relocated to Victoria for new work opportunities. Chris has been a valued contributor at South Fremantle, serving in multiple roles including Interim Colts Head Coach in 2023, and more recently as an Assistant Coach and in opposition analysis. We’re pleased to confirm that Chris will continue supporting the program in his opposition analysis capacity remotely.

Shaun brings a wealth of coaching experience to the Bulldogs. He has previously led both the League and Reserves at the Manning Rippers, served as an Assistant Coach at Donnybrook in the South West Football League (SWFL), and most recently worked alongside Derek Hall at Harvey Brunswick Leschenault (HBL).

Senior Coach Mark Foster shared his excitement about the appointment:

“We are very fortunate to have someone of Shaun’s experience join our senior program at such late notice,” he said.
“Shaun’s coaching philosophy and values align well with our group, and to provide an opportunity to someone that is as committed as Shaun is really exciting.”

With a strong knowledge of the SWFL – a region where the Bulldogs have successfully recruited from in recent years – Shaun will also offer valuable insight into the player pathways and emerging talent from the region.

“Not only will Shaun provide us with great support to the coaching group, but also his knowledge and awareness of the SWFL where we have been fortunate to recruit some players over the last few seasons,” Foster added.

We look forward to seeing the impact Shaun will have on our Reserves program in 2025 and beyond.
