TURNBULL APPOINTED TALENT & COMMUNITY PROGRAMS MANAGER

Author: South Fremantle Football Club

South Fremantle Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Robbie Turnbull as the Club’s new Talent & Community Programs Manager, commencing Monday, November 24.

Robbie steps into the full-time position after spending the past two seasons contributing to our football department in a part-time capacity, working across both the Talent Program and in the WAFLW coaching group.

A familiar face around the Club, Robbie joined South Fremantle in 2023 as an interstate recruit from the Northern Territory and has since played 41 games across league and reserves. His debut in the red and white came fittingly in Darwin, representing the Bulldogs against the NTFL representative side.

Beyond his playing career, Robbie brings an impressive background in football, education, and leadership. He is a Level 2 accredited AFL coach, a NTFL Premiership Player (Waratah’s), and holds a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science/Bachelor of Business (Sports Management). In addition to his football credentials, Robbie has experience as a business owner (Top Tier Footballer) and is a qualified personal trainer, highlighting his well-rounded skill set and passion for player development.

Head of Football Charlie Burke said Robbie’s appointment was a natural fit given his experience, values, and deep connection to the Club.

“Robbie brings with him a wealth of knowledge as both a player and coach, coupled with strong leadership qualities and a genuine desire to build lasting relationships,” Burke said.

“Over the past two seasons, he has contributed to our talent program in a part-time capacity and taken on a coaching role within our women’s program, which he will continue in 2026. Robbie’s familiarity with our programs, players, and staff makes him an ideal fit for this expanded role.”

Burke also praised Robbie’s commitment to community engagement and his vision for connecting the Bulldogs’ pathways with grassroots football.

“When discussing the position, it was clear that Robbie is passionate about working closely with our community clubs and strengthening connections across our regional zones,” Burke said.

“I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank Robbie for his service as a player in our men’s program since joining us from the Northern Territory in early 2023, and I look forward to watching and supporting his continued progression as a full-time member of our team.”

Having now settled in Western Australia, Robbie has embraced life in the red and white, both on and off the field. His strong character, professionalism, and “can-do” attitude have made him a respected figure within the Club, and his appointment marks an exciting next chapter in his South Fremantle journey.
