VOLUNTEERS OF THE MONTH
Author: South Fremantle Football Club
The South Fremantle Football Club (SFFC) recognises the great contribution our clubs and club volunteers make within our Metro and Country zones. Football clubs simply don’t exist without the countless hours put in by volunteers – from coaches and team managers to board members, canteen staff, and so many others working behind the scenes.
The Volunteer of the Month program is our way of shining a light on those individuals who go above and beyond in their roles within community football clubs aligned with SFFC. Each month from April through August, we’ll announce a new winner who will receive an SFFC store voucher, game day passes, and an invitation (with a guest) to attend a President’s Function.
This month, we are proud to recognise an outstanding contributor whose dedication has had a lasting impact on her club and the broader football community.
May Volunteer Of The Month: Stephanie Marshall – Hammond Park
Our May Volunteer of the Month is Stephanie Marshall from Hammond Park – a true powerhouse behind the scenes and on the field.
Steph has served as a team manager for the past nine years, becoming a cornerstone of the club’s operations and a trusted support figure for coaches, players, and families alike. Her efforts often extend well beyond match day, ensuring the team runs smoothly and that everyone feels supported and connected.
But Steph’s impact doesn’t stop there. She’s also a driving force behind the Hammond Park Masters Women’s team, where she leads by example as both an organiser and an active player. And if that wasn’t impressive enough, she balances all of this while raising four children – a testament to her resilience and passion for the game.
“We are truly lucky to have Steph – the team would be lost without her.” – Charlie Burke
Stephanie Marshall embodies everything that makes community football special: selflessness, leadership, and unwavering commitment. We are honoured to celebrate her as our May Volunteer of the Month.
Congratulations, Steph – and thank you for all that you do.
June Volunteer Of The Month: Cara Naylor – Mundijong
Cara is in her 2nd year with Centrals as one of their Auskick Coordinators, and has quickly made a big impact at the club. In one of the biggest clubs in the South Fremantle District, Cara goes above and beyond to make sure everyone has everything they need for Auskick gamedays, and has worked to improve communication between coaches and team managers, ensuring things run smoothly across the club. Cara does all this while being a mum of 3 boys herself and working full time!
Cara also drives fundraising efforts for the club, which includes organising the Mother’s Day raffle to help the club raise much needed funds to continue to grow.
“Cara goes above and beyond every month with every little detail to ensure everything runs smoothly.” – Melissa Tanner
We are thrilled to celebrate her as our May Volunteer of the Month.
Congratulations, Cara, and thanks for making Mundijong a great place to develop our future SFFC stars.
July Volunteer Of The Month: Kelly Carr – Kelmscott
Kelly Carr is an absolute ripper at Kelmscott – a true club legend who wears multiple hats and never misses a beat. As Club Vice President and Team Manager, Kelly is the heart and soul of the Bulldogs, known widely as the “mum to everyone.”
She spends her weekends setting up fields, packing them down, and supporting teams her own kids no longer even play in – a testament to her passion and commitment to the club. Her work often goes unseen, but it never goes unappreciated.
Nominated by a group of younger players, Kelly’s impact clearly resonates across all age groups. Whether it’s behind the scenes or on game day, her dedication helps keep Kelmscott running strong.
We’re proud to name Kelly our July Volunteer of the Month.
Congratulations, Kelly, and thank you for everything you do for the Kelmscott community and the wider South Fremantle District.
