WAFL – ANOTHER BIG BULLDOGS WIN

South Fremantle kicked 10 goals to two in the first half and the only four of the final term on the way to the dominant 61-point win against Subiaco on Saturday afternoon.
The Bulldogs came into the Round 16 WAFL match up with Subiaco at Leederville’s Sullivan Logistics Stadium looking for a ninth straight win and they made the perfect start.
South Fremantle kicked six goals to one in the first quarter and then four to one in the second before then closing out the contest with the only four majors of the final term for the eventual 15.9 (99) to 4.14 (38) victory against Subiaco.
The win is a ninth in-a-row for the Bulldogs as they remain well clear in top spot of the WAFL ladder with just four games remaining with a 13-1 record.
Matthew Parker produced another dazzling display in the win for South Fremantle with 26 possessions and four goals while Brandon Donaldson ended up with three goals, Haiden Schloithe two and Isiah Winder two to go with 19 disposals.
Jamaine Jones also ended up with 28 possessions, Tom Blechynden 16, Ethan Hughes 24 (15 marks), Jake Florenca 23, Chad Pearson 22, Lewis Rayson 21, Aaron Drage 19, Chase Bourne 18, Toby McQuilkin 18 and Hamish Free 16 to go with 31 hit outs in the ruck.
It took less than a minute for South Fremantle to make the perfect start to the game with a goal to the returning Trey Ruscoe and then after Subiaco responded, the Bulldogs took total control of the contest.
Brandon Donaldson, Roan O’Hehir, Matthew Parker, Haiden Schloithe and Josh Branchi all kicked goals to close the first quarter with the Bulldogs going into the quarter-time break leading by 26 points.
South Fremantle again kicked the first of the second term thanks to Jaxon Artemis before Donaldson soon kicked his second as did Parker and Schloithe with the lead out to 50 points halfway through the quarter.
Subiaco kicked the last goal of the half but South Fremantle were still in control leading by 44 points at half-time and even with the Bulldogs managing just one goal in the third stanza thanks to Donaldson, they were still in control leading by 37 points by three quarter-time.
South Fremantle then pulled away once more with the only four goals of the last term with two apiece to Parker and Isiah Winder for the eventual 61-point victory.
The day at Sullivan Logistics Stadium on Saturday got underway with the colts contest where South Fremantle defeated Subiaco 12.10 (82) to 6.6 (42).
The result improves South Fremantle to a 9-4 record in the colts to be solid in second position and to remain a chance to finish top still with a win in the derby against East Fremantle this coming Saturday.
The Bulldogs started in dominant fashion with the only three goals of the first quarter and even with Subiaco managing three goals to two in the second term, South Fremantle was still leading by 16 points at half-time.
South Fremantle then produced a dominant third term with the advantage of the breeze with six goals to one and that set up the eventual 40-point victory.
Alex MacDonald finished with three goals in the win for the Bulldogs while Fred Rodriguez and Ryda Luke kicked two apiece.
Rodriguez also collected 32 possessions, Toby Whan 27, Byron Foster 23 (21 hit outs), Jacob Donald 17, Lucas Cattalini 16, Millar Rank 16 and Riley Stannard 16.
That led into the reserves contest where South Fremantle continued the winning day at Leederville with the 12.11 (83) to 3.5 (23) victory against Subiaco.
The Bulldogs made a dominant start holding Subiaco scoreless in the first quarter on the way to the 20-point quarter-time lead thanks to managing three goals.
The Lions did have the breeze behind them in the second term and kicked three goals but the Bulldogs also kicked another two to head into the half-time break on top by 13 points.
South Fremantle then dominated the third stanza with five goals and holding Subiaco scoreless with the Bulldogs then adding the only two goals of the last term to score the 60-point win.
Hudson Pivac, Jordan Boullineau and Cian Bushe-Jones all kicked two goals apiece in the win for South Fremantle.
Tom Bell racked up 29 possessions, Tarkyn Etherington 28, Toby Dodds 23, Robbie Turnbull 21 (13 tackles), Nick Stuhldreier 20, Jack Green 18, Jacob Whan 17 and Zane Triscari 17.
