WJ HUGHES MEDAL NIGHT 2025
A night of celebration for all, and an unforgettable one for Matty Parker, who etched his name into South Fremantle Football Club history as the 2025 WJ Hughes Medal winner.
Parker’s impact was undeniable throughout the season, his intensity and flair on full display as he led the Bulldogs on and off the field.
Finishing runner-up by only 3 votes, was Jake Florenca, whose tireless work rate and commitment were again central to the Bulldogs engine room, earning him the N MacDonald Memorial Trophy. In third place, Tom Blechynden was recognised with the Past Players & Officials Trophy.
The John Gerovich Trophy for Leading Goalkicker went to Trey Ruscoe, whose presence inside 50 and accuracy in front of goal proved pivotal across the season.
Rising star Jaxon Artemis claimed the Shearer Family Trophy for Best First-Year Player, highlighting his smooth transition into senior football and exciting potential for the years ahead.
The Culver Family Award for The Red Collar Player of the Year was awarded to Jack Green, recognised for his resilience and determination throughout the season. Chad Pearson, who continues to set standards across the Club, received the Warren Medal for Best Clubman.
Capping off the League accolades, Hamish Free was named Player of the Finals after a standout September campaign.
