Young Talent on Display!

Author: South Fremantle Football Club

AS SOUTH Fremantle’s senior players take a well-deserved break this weekend our young guns take to Patersons Stadium this Sunday at 11:40am in the curtain raiser match to the Eagles and the Greater Western Sydney Giants.

After a thrilling one-point victory last weekend over Claremont at Fremantle Oval, our top-of-the-table colts side will be challenged by the WA State 16s team.

The match will be a showcase event for the rising young talent that the South Fremantle Football Club has coming through its ranks.

Our colts side will have a number of our State 18s players playing, as well as a majority of the team that have performed so consistently over the first seven rounds. It will also give an opportunity to some of the colts squad members who haven’t played in a colts match as yet their chance to debut in the team. For some boys it will be their first opportunity to play on Patersons Stadium, an experience they will never forget.

The WA State 16s side will also showcase five South Fremantle players who have made the initial squad – Shai Bolton, Matthew Wilkes, Zane Sumich, Mitchell Dzelebdzic and Dylan Brown.

Congratulations to all these boys along with those who have been selected in the WA State 18s squad – Jarrod Garlett, Matthew Ah Siu, Jarrod Pickett, Kade Stewart, Brad McPhail, Callum Ah Chee, Billy Frampton, Jacob Dragovich and Jermaine Miller-Lewis.

All of these players have come through the South Fremantle colts and Warriors development programs over recent years proving that it is a highly successful program which is developing our boys to their potential.

The success of the program is due to the professional staff involved including the chairman, coaches, team managers and support staff in teaching the boys not only football skills but valuable life skills along the way. It is also a reflection of the great attitude and desire of the boys that come through the program, that they look to develop their football careers.

So for all those Eagles fans out there going along to the game on Sunday, take the opportunity to get along early and supports our young stars of the future.

I am sure it will be a hard fought quality match with players on both sides trying to impress.
