SOUTH Fremantle is back from the WAFL bye to take on Claremont with the Bulldogs looking for a first NAIDOC Round win over the Tigers since 2009 and a first win at Claremont Oval since 2008.

Claremont and South Fremantle have now done battle in NAIDOC Round contests since 2007 to celebrate their Indigenous heritage.

The Tigers have dominated those contests as well but Saturday's clash at Claremont Oval has plenty riding on it for both clubs.

We’ve got Claremont this week in a big game at their renovated deck. It's been a long time since I've played a game at Claremont Oval so I'm looking forward to checking it out.

We are also coming off the bye so we are all pretty keen to get back into it on Saturday and we know it's a big game for both teams. 

It's also our celebration of NAIDOC Week and that's special to quite a few guys at our club so we know it's a special occasion for them and we want to help them celebrate with a win.

HAIDEN Schloithe brings up his 100th game with South Fremantle this Saturday against Claremont at Claremont Oval doing so in a remarkable run of form so far in 2017.

Schloithe is another proud product of Katanning to play with South Fremantle and having achieved colts success playing in the 2011 premiership and then being rookie-listed by Fremantle.

He made his league debut at South Fremantle in 2012 and didn’t take long to cement his spot, and he has remained ever since splitting roles between being a strong ball-winning and hard running midfielder, and a dangerous and clever half-forward.

JERMAINE Miller-Lewis dreamed of playing AFL football with Hawthorn so being drafted and spending the last two years at the Hawks was something he will always cherish, but when he found himself back home in 2017 he took the brave choice to take a step back and decide what made him happy.

Miller-Lewis was always a Hawthorn fan so he couldn't believe his luck when he landed at the Hawks ahead of the 2015 AFL season. 

He was always a talented youngster coming through the Warriors and colts programs at South Fremantle and despite missing all of 2014 through injury, Hawthorn still gave him a shot in the AFL.

SOUTH Fremantle has a rich Indigenous history as the Bulldogs prepare to play Claremont in the annual NAIDOC Round clash this Saturday and they will wear an extra special jumper for the occasion.

South Fremantle and Claremont have met now in the annual NAIDOC Round clashes since 2007 and that tradition continues this Saturday as two of the clubs with the strongest Indigenous history in Australia lock horns at Claremont Oval.

The Bulldogs on Saturday will wear a new jumper design for the occasion created by South Fremantle product Jermaine Miller-Lewis.

WHAT South Fremantle coach Todd Curley had to say after Sunday's 110-point win over Perth after being 29 points down late in the first quarter leading into the bye this week and the annual NAIDOC Round clash with Claremont at Claremont Oval.

QUESTION: If I told you when 29 points down in the first quarter that you'd be able to win by 110 points you would have been pretty happy?
ANSWER: Yeah the response was pretty impressive, but we'd prefer to not have a slow start like that and have to come back in the first place. But even at that point, we were confident that if we could just steady and get things back on our terms that we could turn it around. It was pleasing we were able to do that and the last three quarters were pretty good to watch. Our ball movement was good, our pressure was good and it was nice that we were really able to take advantage in the forward-line and put the score on the board. We were poor in the first quarter, though, so we will have to review that and see why.
