Bulldogs gear up for finals with win over Falcons

SOUTH Fremantle continued its recent domination against West Perth and maintained its good history at Joondalup's HBF Arena by coming away with a four-point victory on Saturday afternoon.

The Bulldogs opened up a 28-point lead by midway through the last quarter to set up the eventual 12.12 (84) to 12.8 (80) victory that ensured they enter the finals in strong form and on a five-game winning streak.

The game was a fourth in-a-row for South Fremantle also at HBF Arena while the Bulldogs have beaten the Falcons in 11 of the past 12 meetings between the two sides with Saturday's win coming despite the loss of Haiden Schloithe to an ankle injury.

SFFC mourn the sudden passing of Life Member Colin Beard

The South Fremantle Football Club are mourning the sudden passing of Life Member Colin Beard.

Colin was not only a 168-game player, but the League Coach from 1974 to 1976 (coaching 68 games), club Fairest & Best player in 1966, Hall of Fame Inductee and Life Member of our great club.

Bulldogs dominate Tigers to all but lock in second spot

SOUTH Fremantle now looks just about certain of a second-place finish at the end of the WAFL season for a fourth consecutive year having led from start to finish to beat Claremont by 33 points on Saturday.

Second place was up for grabs when the Bulldogs hosted the Tigers at Fremantle Community Bank Oval on Saturday in what was a preview of the qualifying final.

The signs were all positive by the end of the afternoon for South Fremantle with the Bulldogs winning a fourth consecutive match to all but lock away second spot to end up beating the Tigers 14.7 (91) to 8.10 (58).

Round 19 Preview v Claremont

SOUTH Fremantle is back in form having won three straight matches and the Bulldogs can go a long way to securing second position on the WAFL ladder with a win at Fremantle Community Bank Oval against Claremont on Saturday.

It has been a rollercoaster season so far for the Bulldogs with a seven-game winning streak following by four straight losses and now they have recovered with the three wins in-a-row.

The win last week against Peel Thunder was enough to see South Fremantle back into second position on the ladder and they will stay there provided they win their last two matches of the home and away season against both Claremont and West Perth.
