SOUTH Fremantle is looking to capitalise on a tremendous season in the Reserves by winning the Grand Final against Subiaco on Sunday for a third flag in five years, and first under new coach Paul Litherland.
South Fremantle and Subiaco do battle in the 2017 WAFL Reserves Grand Final on Sunday at Subiaco Oval with bounce down set for 11.20am.
It will be streamed live by Footy Radio and made available on the WAFL Facebook page as well as through the WAFL App.
THE final edition of Higgo's Heroes for 2017 is a special one ahead of Sunday's WAFL Reserves Grand Final with Brock Higgins catching up with coach Paul Litherland and the dual premiership-winning 'Master Coach' Tony Walters.
South Fremantle ruckman Brock Higgins has hosted Higgo's Heroes once again throughout the 2017 WAFL season and it's only fitting that the last show of the year will be a good preview heading into the reserves Grand Final on Sunday.
Paul Litherland has taken over coach of the South Fremantle reserves this year and done a tremendous job leading the Bulldogs to the minor premiership winning 16 of 20 games and then beating Subiaco in the second semi-final.
SOUTH Fremantle's reserves take on Subiaco in Sunday's 2017 WAFL Grand Final at Domain Stadium with bounce down set for 11.20am. Following the game, the playing group will return to Fremantle Community Bank Oval from 4.30pm with all members and supporters invited to attend.

WHILE winning the Sandover Medal is a sense of pride for Haiden Schloithe and he would dearly love another chance in the AFL, it's only his desire for a WAFL premiership with South Fremantle that comes close to matching how thankful he is to the support of his parents and family.
Schloithe originally joined South Fremantle from Katanning to play in a colts premiership before then being added to Fremantle's rookie-list for the 2012 and 2013 AFL seasons.
He couldn’t quite make it for an AFL debut but when he returned to South Fremantle full-time in 2014, he was at the age and of the mindset where he was ready to really make his mark as an outstanding WAFL footballer.
SOUTH Fremantle has its first Sandover Medal winner since 2005 with Haiden Schloithe taking out the award as fairest and best player in the WAFL for 2017 ahead of teammate Tim Kelly.
It was a fitting end to the vote count for 2017 that Schloithe's nearest rival was his teammate Tim Kelly after the pair had standout seasons with the Bulldogs helping lead them all the way to Sunday's preliminary final before losing to Subiaco.
Little could separate Schloithe and Kelly throughout the WAFL season with South Fremantle both proving tremendous inside midfielders and clearances winners, while able to break away and run and carry the ball, and go forward to kick goals.
SOUTH Fremantle is just one win away from the club's first WAFL Grand Final appearance since 2009 heading into Sunday's preliminary final against Subiaco at Leederville Oval.
The Lions and Bulldogs occupied the top two positions in the WAFL for the majority of the season but now after both saw their winning streaks come to an end at the expense of Peel in the opening two weeks of the AHG WAFL Finals Series, there is only room for one in the 2017 Grand Final.
South Fremantle finished second for the second straight season and entered the qualifying final on a nine-game winning streak before losing to Peel by 18 points at Fremantle Community Bank Oval.
REIGNING South Fremantle fairest and best winner Shane Hockey holds himself to high standards so he was as disappointed as anyone following the qualifying final loss to Peel, but he bounced back emphatically and now is desperate to play in the first Grand Final of his senior career.
Hockey joined South Fremantle from VFL club Frankston last year and had an outstanding first season in the WAFL claiming the Bulldogs' fairest and best award and getting to play finals at senior level for the first time in his career.
Previously the last final he had played in was a 10-goal loss for Mornington under-18s against Frankston YCW. But all South Fremantle's preliminary final exit last year at the hands of Peel Thunder did was make Hockey's desire to achieve the ultimate even stronger coming into 2017.
LAST Sunday was excellent reward for everyone involved. We got back to playing some good football and now head into this Sunday's game with some confidence but of the understanding Subiaco will be extremely motivated to respond after losing to Peel.
Subiaco didn’t win 19 games for no reason and we know we need to be at our absolute best to compete on Sunday.
But it is very exciting to know that if we win we are in the Grand Final. Since 2009 this is the deepest I have got in any finals campaign so to play in a game with a Grand Final the result is great. The group have put a lot of work in over the last three years and we deserve to be in the position we are to even have the chance to play in a Grand Final.
A SPOT in the 2017 WAFL Grand Final goes on the line when South Fremantle heads to Leederville Oval to take on Subiaco on Sunday.
While Subiaco is attempting to qualify for a spot in a fourth successive decider, South Fremantle is attempting to win into a first Grand Final since 2009.
