FUTURES SHINE BRIGHT
Author: South Fremantle Football Club
The seven‑game Futures Series came to a close with an impressive performance against Claremont, capping off what has been a highly encouraging campaign.
This year’s program saw twelve underage players earn their first taste of Futures football, with over 40 athletes pulling on the Red V for the first time.
Talent Manager Robert Turnbull expressed, “the depth and emerging talent on display were standout features of the series, with many players seizing their opportunity to step up.”
Head Coach Daniel Vidovich, along with his coaching group and support staff, played a pivotal role in guiding the squad through the campaign. We acknowledge their commitment and leadership shown throughout the program.
The season was celebrated at last Thursday’s Presentation Evening, where several athletes were recognised for their contributions and achievements.
- Best Clubman: Deshaun Khaira
- Leading Goal Kicker: Damian Champion (10 goals)
- Red Collar Award: Noah Haskell
- Most Improved: Joshua Websdale
- 3rd Place Best & Fairest: Connor Davies
- Joint Runner‑Up Best & Fairest: Peter Maisano & Damian Champion
- Jim Hurst Medal (Best & Fairest): Cooper Riseley
With many promising athletes progressing through the pathway, the future looks bright and we can’t wait to see their continued growth in the years ahead at South Fremantle.
