RD 10 WAFLW PREVIEW | v EAST PERTH
South Fremantle are back in action in Round 10 of the WAFLW season on Saturday night at Sullivan Logistics Stadium attempting to return to the winner’s list against East Perth.
South Fremantle heads to the Leederville venue on Saturday for the two games against the Royals starting with the Rogers Cup that gets underway at 5pm with the WAFLW contest to follow at 7:05pm.
The Bulldogs are looking to bounce back from last Friday night’s thrilling one-point loss to East Fremantle in the derby at The Good Grocer Park to open the WA Day long weekend.
Even while losing that game by a solitary point, there was plenty to like in the showing from South Fremantle with Annalie Polimeno kicking two goals and Tash Entwistle racking up 24 possessions, Madi Evans 22, Tahleah Mulder 21 and Makaela Tuhakaraina 15.
East Perth also lost their derby last weekend going down to West Perth by 30 points on Saturday at Joondalup’s HIF Health Insurance Oval.
Now coming into the clash on Saturday night South Fremantle currently sit in seventh position on the WAFLW ladder with three wins, four defeats and a draw while East Perth are in eighth place with two wins and six losses.
South Fremantle are attempting to bounce back from that one-point derby loss last Friday night with Ash Gomes back into the team to face East Perth along with Ella Matthews.
Going out for the Bulldogs are Kelli Elliss and Liusaidh Gilchrist.
East Perth are attempting to rebound from last Saturday’s five-goal loss to West Perth with Kahra Sprlyan, Codi Thompson and Monica Yengi coming into the team to take on South Fremantle.
Going out for the Royals are Achol Deng, Amber Ugle-Hayward and Hope Ugle-Hayward.
The Rogers Cup gets underway at 5pm on Saturday evening at Leederville’s Sullivan Logistics Stadium with South Fremantle taking on East Perth.
South Fremantle are looking to rebound from an eight-point loss to East Fremantle last Friday night with East Perth also having lost on Saturday to West Perth by 34 points up at Joondalup.
That leaves the Bulldogs with a 2-6 record in the Rogers Cup coming into the match up while the Royals are in last place with just the one win so far from eight games.
Coming off the loss to the Sharks in the derby last Friday, Abbie Bootsma, Grace Johnson and Alice Warburton are into the team for South Fremantle.
Going out for the Bulldogs are Alyssa Henderson, Olivia Henderson and Ava Hutchinson.
Fleur Andrews, Sierra Buttel, Ana Nankivell and Alyssa Peake come into the East Perth team following that loss to West Perth last Saturday.
Going out for the Royals are Amelia Carrabba, Harper Belbin, Shari Ketteridge and Giaan Versace.
