RD 3 WAFLW PREVIEW | v PERTH

South Fremantle are back home in the WAFLW this Saturday to play host to Perth at Fremantle Community Bank Oval looking to return to the winner’s list in the process.

It’s a huge day planned on Saturday at Fremantle Community Bank Oval with the WAFLW and Rogers Cup match ups a key part of proceedings.

The Rogers Cup contest between South Fremantle and Perth will get things underway on Saturday morning at 8:40am before the WAFLW contest then will follow the men’s league match later in the afternoon getting underway at 4:25pm.

South Fremantle started their 2026 WAFLW season with an impressive 49-point derby win at home against East Fremantle where they held the Sharks goalless.

They couldn’t quite back it up on Good Friday with the 48-point loss to Swan Districts at Steel Blue Oval on Good Friday as they now attempt to bounce back against Perth on home turf at Fremantle Community Bank Oval on Saturday.

The Demons started the 2026 season with the bye in Round 1 before entering the action on Good Friday and losing at home by 12 points to Subiaco.

Perth only joined the WAFLW competition in 2025 so South Fremantle have played them just the two times including back in Round 2 last year where the Bulldogs won by 43 points at Mineral Resources Park.

The return encounter at Fremantle Community Bank Oval took place in Round 11 last year and it was Perth causing the upset with the 12-point victory against South Fremantle.

So the Bulldogs come into this Saturday’s match up at home looking for a measure of revenge and to beat the Demons for the first ever time at Fremantle Community Bank Oval in the WAFLW competition.

South Fremantle has made three changes to the team that lost to Swan Districts back on Good Friday with Jasmine Bazeley, Brianna Cleggett and Eva Flynn into the side.

Going out for the Bulldogs are Ella Matthews, Marie Polimeno and Kelli Elliss.

There are two changes to the Perth team with Gemma Dix and Amber Wyatt into their side while Katelyn Cox and Brooke Whyte go out.

The Rogers Cup open the day’s action at Fremantle Community Bank Oval with South Fremantle playing Perth from 8:40am with the Bulldogs hunting a first win of the season.

South Fremantle lost the first game of 2026 to East Fremantle by 13 points before also going down to Swan Districts last Thursday night by 38 points at Steel Blue Oval.

The Bulldogs will now be looking to notch their first win against a Perth team who had the opening round bye and then had a narrow 12-point defeat at the hands of Subiaco on Good Friday.

There are plenty of changes to the South Fremantle team that lost to Swans last week with Gracie-Lee Briggs, Belle Cattalini, Samara Donohue, Isla Ferraro, Alice Lee-Burwood and Khesan Starr all into the team.

Going out for the Bulldogs are Eva Flynn, Holly Barnes, Maningning Morales, Tori Groth, Skye Behrendt and Ashley Speijers.

The Demons are also hunting a first win of 2026 with Lacey Bateman, Jessica Green, Summer Keil and Carmen Woods into their side.

Going out for Perth are Giordana Macri, Sophie Williams, Henna Garnett and Addison Hayward.
