Expression of Interest: Become a Host Family for South Fremantle Football Club

South Fremantle Football Club is committed to supporting our interstate and regional recruits as they settle into life at the Bulldogs. Each year, we welcome talented young men and women to the club, many of whom are moving away from home for the first time to chase their footballing careers.

One of our biggest hurdles is finding accommodation for these players, so we’re building a pool of host families with a spare room ready to welcome a recruit into their home.

Why Host a Player?

Our interstate and regional players are in their early 20s, working during the day, training three times a week, and playing games on weekends. It’s a big transition and having a stable, welcoming home base can make all the difference as they find their feet in a new city and settle into life at the Bulldogs.

Your spare room could be the foundation of a player’s career at South Fremantle and the start of a relationship that lasts well beyond their first season.

What We’re Looking For:

We’d love to hear from host families or individuals with a spare room (or two) who are willing to open their home to one of our players from December/January, for at least three months. Most players will only need a home base to start their Bulldogs journey and will typically look to move into their own accommodation within three to six months.

What the host family would provide:

• A clean, respectful, safe, and welcoming living space
• Access to amenities such as laundry and kitchen
• A supportive environment for a young athlete finding their feet
• Ideally, a location no more than 30 minutes’ travel time to Fremantle Oval

What SFFC and the player would provide in return:

• Rental income
• A season membership
• An invitation for two to a President’s Function
