RD 7 WAFLW PREVIEW | v PEEL THUNDER
South Fremantle will take on Peel Thunder in both the Rogers Cup and WAFLW this Saturday at Fremantle Community Bank Oval looking to head into the State game break in winning form.
The Bulldogs take on the Thunder at Fremantle Community Bank Oval on Saturday with the Rogers Cup match up getting underway at 9:30am before the WAFLW contest at 11:35am.
Ahead of the Round 7 WAFLW match and before next week’s general bye for the State game, South Fremantle currently sits on a 2-3 record with a draw to be knocking on the door of a finals position.
Peel, meanwhile, arrives at Fremantle Community Bank Oval in last place in the WAFLW having yet to win a game in 2026 and losing their six matches so far by an average of 34 points.
Going back to last week and South Fremantle returned to the winner’s list by beating Subiaco by 16 points thanks to a strong finish at Sullivan Logistics Stadium.
The Thunder suffered a sixth consecutive loss to start the season with a 65-point defeat at the hands of West Perth at Lane Group Stadium in Mandurah.
South Fremantle are coming off a 16-point win last week against Subiaco and from that team, Tahleah Mulder and Tashuana Munn are into the line-up to take on Peel this Saturday.
Going out for the Bulldogs for the match up with the Thunder are Jasmine Bazeley and Liusaidh Gilchrist.
Peel went down to West Perth in Mandurah last Saturday and from that team, Tayla Cooper, Riley Fisher, Kaitlyn Hayes, Natalie Oakes and Kyah Suckling all coming into the team.
Going out for the Thunder are Zoe Bailey, Gracie Fenton, Tahlia Head, Keely Hare and Tiama Collard.
The Rogers Cup contest between South Fremantle and Peel will start the day’s action with both teams on the hunt for a second win of the 2026 season.
The Bulldogs come into the clash with a 1-5 record with the Thunder holding the same record making it a big game for each team if they want to stay in touch of a finals spot even still before the halfway mark of the season.
South Fremantle are coming off a 22-point loss at Sullivan Logistics Stadium against Subiaco last Sunday while Peel went down by 24 points at home in Mandurah against West Perth.
Coming off that loss to Subiaco last Sunday, South Fremantle have made plenty of changes to their Rogers Cup team this week with Eva Flynn, Grace Johnson, Olivia Ricupero, Ayvah Rioli, Jessica Skinner and Khesan Starr coming into the team.
Going out for the Bulldogs are Maddison Catley, Shayla Templeton, Izabella Stuart, Alica Warburton, Madeline Jarrett and Maningning Morales.
