BULLDOGS TOO STRONG FOR ROYALS
South Fremantle had an enjoyable Saturday evening at Leederville against Perth with both the Rogers Cup and WAFLW teams scoring strong victories.
The evening at Sullivan Logistics Stadium got underway with the win for the Rogers Cup that led into the WAFLW match up where the Bulldogs proved too strong for the Royals to secure the 7.3 (45) to 4.5 (29) victory.
The result sees South Fremantle now sit in fifth position on the WAFLW ladder by the end of Round 10 with four wins, four losses and a draw from the opening nine matches of 2026.
Jess Watts finished up kicking two goals in the win for the Bulldogs to go with having 14 possessions and two entries inside the forward 50.
Natasha Entwistle continued her standout form in her first season with South Fremantle with another 33 possessions with six inside 50s, five marks and five tackles.
Makaela Tuhakaraina also had 29 disposals, Tara Stribley 21, Tahleah Mulder 18, Madi Evans 17 and Annalie Polimeno 15.
It was East Perth who made the better of the start with the first goal of the game courtesy of former Bulldog Kahra Sprlyan but before quarter-time South Fremantle responded through Shannyn Pomersbach and Tara Stribley to be leading by seven points.
East Perth hit back with the opening two goals of the second quarter as well before South Fremantle responded with two to Jess Watts to see the Bulldogs head into the half-time break with the five-point edge.
The Bulldogs then kicked the only two goals of the third quarter from Tahleah Mulder and Jasmine Bazeley to be on top by 17 points at three quarter-time.
South Fremantle then put the game out of reach with the first goal of the last quarter from Madi Hadley and from there went on to secure the 16-point victory.
The Rogers Cup contest opened up the evening at Sullivan Logistics Stadium and it was a dominant performance from South Fremantle to end up beating East Perth 9.4 (58) to 2.3 (15).
It was a blistering start from South Fremantle with five goals to one in the opening quarter to be already leading by 25 points at quarter-time.
The Bulldogs then kicked the only goal of the second term to be leading by 29 points at half-time before another two goals to one in the third term, and then the only goal of the final quarter on the way to the 43-point victory.
South Fremantle improves to a 3-6 record now in the Rogers Cup as a result of the win to sit in sixth position on the ladder.
Ayvan Rioli had a night to remember in the win for the Bulldogs kicking five goals while Khesan Starr added two, Maningning Morales one and Olivia Ricupero one.
