Evans Earns AFLW Opportunity with Brisbane Lions

South Fremantle Football Club is proud to congratulate Madison Evans on her recent signing with the Brisbane Lions for the 2026 AFLW season.

The talented defender has been rewarded after an outstanding campaign in the red and white, where she established herself as one of the Bulldogs’ most consistent performers.

Across 13 WAFLW matches in 2026, Evans averaged 15.2 disposals per game, collecting 197 disposals (132 kicks and 65 handballs), while also recording 42 marks and 27 tackles. Her composure with ball in hand, ability to read the play and willingness to compete made her a vital part of South Fremantle’s defensive unit.

After arriving at South Fremantle ahead of the 2026 season, Evans made an immediate impact with her experience, consistency and professionalism. Her consistent performances have now earned her the opportunity to take the next step in her football journey at AFLW level.

Evans’ signing further reinforces South Fremantle’s reputation as one of the competition’s leading pathways to the AFLW, with another Bulldog earning the chance to compete on the national stage.
