FLORENCA CROWNED 2026 SANDOVER MEDALLIST

South Fremantle Football Club is incredibly proud to congratulate Jake Florenca on winning the 2026 Sandover Medal, capping off a brilliant individual season in the red and white.

Florenca was crowned the Sullivan Logistics WAFL competition’s fairest and best player last night, becoming the 12th individual South Fremantle player to claim WA football’s most prestigious individual honour and securing the Club’s 13th Sandover Medal.

The victory sees Jake become South Fremantle’s first Sandover Medallist since Haiden Schloithe claimed the honour in 2017, adding his name to a proud list of some of the greatest players to have represented the Bulldogs.

Florenca was a driving force through the South Fremantle midfield throughout 2026, consistently leading the way with his ability to win the football, apply pressure around the contest and set the standard for his teammates.

Across the season, Jake averaged an outstanding 26.1 disposals, 5.5 tackles and four marks per game, establishing himself as one of the competition’s premier midfielders. His consistency, hard work, commitment and leadership were instrumental throughout our 2026 campaign.

His name now sits alongside South Fremantle greats including Stephen Michael, John Todd and Stephen Marsh as a winner of one of the most prestigious individual awards in Western Australian football.
