CLUB STATEMENT – COLTS GAME PROCEEDING

Author: South Fremantle Football Club

Following the tragic passing of Nick Campo, South Fremantle Football Club has been working intensively with the playing group, coaches, welfare resources and wider football stakeholders to asses our ability to play in Saturday’s game.

The Campo Family and our Colts Squad have communicated a strong desire for the game to proceed, in tribute to Nick and in support of teammate Tyler Rowe, who is still fighting in hospital.

Following all available welfare advice and with our player’s strong desire to honour their mate at the forefront of our decision, the South Fremantle vs. Subiaco Colts game will proceed.

Our priority remains our players, staff and families involved in this terrible tragedy, and as such, we fully support taking the field tomorrow.

Our Colts and Reserves games will be brought forward to 9.00am and 11.40am respectively, to allow for a moment’s silence prior to each game.

We welcome attendance from anyone within the community wishing to pay tribute to Nick, with the moment’s silence scheduled for 8.50am at Fremantle Community Bank Oval.
