George Grljusich Book Launch

The life of that great South Fremantle stalwart and sports broadcaster George Grljusich is the subject of a book to be published later this month by Round House Press. Written by Fremantle identity Baden Pratt and titled George! The Life and Riotous Times of George Grljusich , it will be launched at the South Fremantle Football Club on Thursday 27 November at 6 pm.

All club members are invited to attend, though places are limited and registration is essential – by emailing admin@roundhousepress.com or telephoning 0438 018 217, indicating how many people will be attending. The book will also be on sale in the club bar area on the following afternoon, Friday 28 November, the day before its general release through bookshops. It can also be purchased at roundhousepress.com at $35 + postage.

George Grljusich was a great supporter of South Fremantle. He played 12 games in 1960 and then went to the other side of the fence to broadcast more than 800 games over a radio career lasting 47 years. He raised thousands of dollars for South Fremantle and was unpaid master of ceremonies at hundreds of club functions. The book will be launched by Paul Murray of 6PR and the West Australian .
