South Fremantle are back home to Fremantle Community Bank Oval on Sunday for Round 11 of the WAFLW looking to further close in on a finals position when hosting the league’s newest team, Perth.

The Bulldogs and the Demons will play one another for a second time so far in the WAFLW with South Fremantle coming into Sunday’s game trying to break into the top four with Perth still hunting that first victory in the competition.

The WAFLW match up starts at 12:10pm on Sunday afternoon at Fremantle Community Bank Oval with South Fremantle currently sitting in fifth position on the ladder with a 5-4 record.

That has them currently level with five wins and four losses with the fourth placed West Perth and only a game behind the third ranked Swan Districts.

With the Falcons and Swans playing one another this weekend on Saturday night, a win for South Fremantle against Perth on Sunday and there’s a good chance they will finish Round 11 inside the top four of the WAFLW once more.

South Fremantle are coming off a four-point victory also at home last Saturday against West Perth in a game that featured just the two goals between the two teams that moved the Bulldogs within striking distance of replacing the Falcons in the top four.

Perth, meanwhile, remained winless so far in their first WAFLW season with a 14-point loss to East Fremantle last Saturday but the Demons have been significantly more competitive than other new teams joining the competition.

The two teams have already met once earlier this season which saw South Fremantle record the 6.14 (50) to 1.1 (7) victory against Perth at Lathlain’s Mineral Resources Park.

In that 43-point victory for South Fremantle, Zoe Huggett kicked three goals from her eight kicks with Poppy Stockwell adding two majors.

Tahleah Mulder also racked up 26 possessions in the win for the Bulldogs, Tara Stribley 20, Hannah Burt 19, Renee Morgan 19, Alyssa Smogavec 18 and Jasmine Bazeley 13 to go with eight tackles.

Meanwhile, the Rogers Cup match up begins at 10:05am on Sunday morning between South Fremantle and Perth at Fremantle Community Bank Oval.

The Bulldogs currently sit in fifth position on the Rogers Cup ladder with five wins, four losses and a draw so far this season to be just half a game behind the fourth placed Claremont.

They are taking on a Demons team who sit seventh in the Rogers Cup with a 3-6 record.

It’s the second time that the teams have met so far this season and back in Round 2 at Mineral Resources Park Perth claimed the thrilling three-point victory.

South Fremantle now come into Sunday morning’s game having lost to reigning premiers West Perth by 45 points last Saturday.

Perth are coming off a 22-point loss to East Fremantle 22 points last Sunday.
