2024 LEADERSHIP GROUP

Author: South Fremantle Football Club

South Fremantle is thrilled to announce that following a thorough process, our 2024 Leadership Group has been selected.

Club Leadership Consultant Glenn Stewart led a robust player-driven leadership session for the entire WAFL squad at our Pingelly training camp held last weekend.

The session was designed to ensure every player understood the behaviors and requirements of a Leader at our Club before they placed their votes.

It is with considerable excitement that we announce that our 2024 Captain is Chad Pearson.

Chad will be ably supported by our Leadership Group consisting of Dylan Main, Tom Blechynden and Jarrod Salmeri.

Chad has some big shoes to fill, following the outstanding contribution from Dylan Main over the last 6 seasons.

Dylan made the decision to step down and let someone else step up into the Captaincy role, as explained by Head of Football , Charlie Burke.

This is a demanding role that many people outside these four walls wouldn’t understand”

“Dylan has decided to focus on his footy, and hopes that by giving himself some more freedom, it will hopefully allow him to get out on the park more than he has in the last few seasons” said Burke.

Skinny (Dylan Main) has always put the Club and teammates first and was such a rock for the group and Club in what was a very challenging season in 2023. To have six years at the helm and to be a Premiership Captain is something that we hope he can reflect back on with pride in the years to come.

When asked how Chad will fit into the role, Charlie said
‘Chad Pearson is a tremendous leader in his own right and to have Skinny support him by remaining in the leadership group just shows his selfless attitude’

We are looking forward to everything that 2024 will bring and are extremely excited to have these four men leading our WAFL FIGHT BACK.
