CRAIG MCNAUGHTON SIGNS 2-YEAR EXTENSION

South Fremantle Football Club is excited to announce that Craig McNaughton has signed on for a further two years as our WAFLW Head Coach.

Announced at our Allomes Medal and Presentation Evening last Friday evening, it is exciting news for our Women’s Program.

Craig began his journey at South Fremantle as Rogers Cup Head Coach in 2021, leading the side to the Grand Final.

He was then appointed as WAFLW League Head Coach in 2022, driving performance standards and program improvements.

Season 2023 has certainly been our breakout year, with Craig leading us to 10 wins and finishing second on the ladder. Craig was integral in recruiting six quality players and several impressive support staff.

Finishing 2023 off with being awarded the WAFLW Coach of the Year by the West Australian Football Commission was the cherry on top already impressive cake!

“We are delighted to have secured Craig’s services for the next two seasons. Craig is a highly respected coach, evident in receiving the WAFLW coach of the year award this season after taking the team from 2nd last in 2022 to preliminary finalists in 2023”.

“Craig’s ability to build relationships, set high standards, and influence positive change is something that stands out. We are lucky to have such quality people head up our football programs and are excited about what the future holds for our Women’s squad”.

“It is no secret that we want to win premierships and we believe Craig is the coach that will deliver the club’s first WAFLW premiership”
