FALETTI JOINS THE KENNEL AS WAFLW HEAD COACH

Author: South Fremantle Football Club

South Fremantle Football Club are delighted to announce the appointment of Pia Faletti as our WAFLW Head Coach.

Faletti has held key posts coaching Female footballers at Subiaco Football Club (Rogers Cup and WAFLW) and West Coast Eagles (AFLW) and brings lived experience as an athlete, having played 200 games for Coastal Titans/Subiaco.

More recently, Faletti was appointed Head Coach of the WA State 16s as well as coaching with the State 18s, playing a key role in the development of our emerging female talent.

We’re thrilled to welcome Pia to South Fremantle as our WAFLW Head Coach ,” said Sean Pollard, Manager of Female Football.

Pia has a wealth of knowledge and coaching experience within female football programs and what stood out in her presentation was her intelligent approach to leadership and clear articulation of her ambitions for success here at the Bulldogs .”

Having been involved as a coach with Subiaco, West Coast Eagles and through our State pathways gives Pia a unique blend of football experiences, and her teaching background will enable her to maximise the potential of our list .”

Faletti said she is looking forward to leading the Club’s next chapter.

I’m really excited to get started at South Fremantle, particularly the potential of the playing group and ability to work with a group of quality coaches ,” she said.

I’ve already been warmly welcomed by a number of Bulldogs staff who are invested in the Women’s program and look forward to seeing what we can achieve collectively in 2025 .”

Faletti’s appointment coincides with the return of South Fremantle’s WAFLW program to its spiritual home at Fremantle Oval, with all operations for the upcoming 2025 season to be based at the iconic Parry Street venue.

It’s very exciting to be able to bring our senior women’s program home to Fremantle Oval on an ongoing basis ,” says Pollard. “ The players will have a dedicated changeroom space with their own lockers, video review equipment and use of meeting spaces and gym .”

Access to our home facilities will build significant belonging and connection for our playing group and staff and goes in hand with Pia’s appointment as we strive to build high-level female football programs here at South Fremantle .”

We would like to welcome Pia and her husband Andrew to the Premier Family Club.
