JAKE FLORENCA – DEBUT DREAM COME TRUE

Author: South Fremantle Football Club

It has been a whirlwind week for Jake Florenca after he was tapped on the shoulder late Wednesday and told he would be flying to Queensland with the West Coast Eagles!

At the begining of the season Jake was listed on West Coast’s COVID Contingency top-up list, but hadn’t yet received the call-up.

On Wednesday, Jake was told he would be heading to Brisbane as a flying emergency, but this narrative changed quickly on Friday when the Eagles announced he would be debuting in the Blue and Gold.

Jake ran out to play with his Mum, Carol-Lyn, and partner, Angela, both watching on in the stands at the Gabba.

Jake was pictured signing autographs with young fans and smiling for photos with Eagles Fanatics before the game.

Our League side had just finished a tough game in Joondalup, but got themselves ready and upstairs to watch Jake Debut together. The boys all piled into the West Perth Club rooms, set up their chairs, and watched on as their friend and team-mate did our Club and his family proud.

Jake put on an incredible performance, and at quarter time was even leading the disposals!

Jake finished the game with:
Disposals: 19 (13 contested)
Marks: 3
Tackles: 7
Clearances: 4

As a Club we are so proud of Jake and hope he gets another opportunity to showcase his very evident Football ability on the AFL stage.
