RD 13 PREVIEW | v EAST PERTH
Author: South Fremantle Football Club
South Fremantle will get back to playing under lights this Friday night taking on East Perth in the Round 13 WAFLW clash at Sullivan Logistics Stadium needing to win to try and break into a finals position.
The Bulldogs hit the road on Friday evening to Leederville to play the Royals with the Rogers Cup game getting underway at 5:15pm with the WAFLW contest to follow from 7:20pm.
South Fremantle come into the Round 13 WAFLW game currently sitting in a 6-5 record to be in fifth position but only percentage behind the fourth placed West Perth and only one game back from Swan Districts.
So finals is still well and truly within reach of the Bulldogs especially after last Saturday’s tremendous performance to hold Subiaco goalless and to hand the Lions a first loss of the 2025 season with the 43-point victory at Fremantle Community Bank Oval.
South Fremantle will now attempt to keep that momentum going on Friday night at Leederville against an East Perth team currently in last place in the WAFLW having lost their past seven matches including going down to East Fremantle by 29 points last Sunday afternoon.
The two teams did meet back in Round 6 this season at Fremantle Community Bank Oval when South Fremantle scored the 15-point victory.
On that day, Zoe Huggett kicked two goals for the Bulldogs with Tahleah Mulder the other goal scorer to go with 19 possessions and seven tackles.
Hannah Burt also had 21 disposals for South Fremantle, Ella Matthews 17, Bailey Hunt 17, Renee Morgan 16 and Madizen Wilkins 13.
South Fremantle are coming off that win against Subiaco last Saturday and from that team, Pippa Sideris and Shaya Yarran come into the team for the Bulldogs on Friday night.
Going out for South Fremantle are Alira Fotu and Sophie Rodger.
East Perth are coming off a 29-point loss to East Fremantle with Emily Boothman and Mia Pappas into the team while Kahra Sprlyan and Brianna Hyde go out.
The Rogers Cup match up will begin proceedings on Friday evening at Sullivan Logistics Stadium with the Bulldogs taking on the Royals with the game getting underway at 5:15pm.
South Fremantle comes into Round 13 of the season sitting in fifth position on the Rogers Cup ladder with five wins, five losses and a draw while East Perth are in bottom spot with one win, eight defeats and a draw.
That leaves the Bulldogs with the chance to move into the top four with a win on Friday night and a good chance to stay there by the end of the weekend should other results go their way.
South Fremantle are fresh off a six-point Rogers Cup win against Subiaco last Saturday at Fremantle Community Bank Oval and from that team, Alexis Edgley, Grace Johnson and Zarlya Yarran come into the squad.
Going out for the Bulldogs are Shaya Yarran, Macey McDougall and Olivia Henderson.
East Perth went goalless last Sunday in an 81-point loss to East Fremantle and from that team, Roxy Adams, Chevelle Legenstein, Krystelle Marion and Hayley Scheepens have come into the squad.
Going out for the Royals are Charlie Filear, Amalie Lawrie, Alicia Kenny and Ella Hills.
