SOUTH Fremantle is on a hot run of form in the WAFLW for 2024 and will look to keep that going on the road to East Perth on Saturday afternoon.

The Bulldogs are now on a three-game winning streak this WAFLW season and will be out to make it four when taking on the Royals at Leederville’s Sullivan Logistics Stadium on Saturday.

The WAFLW league contest gets underway at 12.10pm following on from the Rogers Cup contest that begins the day’s proceedings at 10.05am.

South Fremantle started the season with three tough matches against the current top three teams in the first four rounds in between a 67-point win against Peel Thunder.

The Bulldogs then started this current three-game winning run by beating East Perth by 35 points back in Round 6 at Fremantle Community Bank Oval.

Saturday’s return clash at Leederville is the last WAFLW game before the State Game next week against the SANFLW at Optus Stadium with the Bulldogs looking to keep their momentum going.

Back in that Round 6 win against the Royals, Shannyn Pomersbach, Poppy Stockwell and Tahleah Mulder all kicked two goals apiece with Liusaidh Gilchrist gathering 20 disposals, Mulder 19, Madizen Wilkins 16, Caitlin Pears 16 and Kahra Sprlyan 16.

South Fremantle also played at Sullivan Logistics Stadium last Saturday in the 16-point victory against Subiaco so it’s back to familiar territory this week to take on East Perth.

Molly O’Hehir delivered a dominant performance in that win last week for the Bulldogs with 30 possessions and is looking for her team to keep the momentum rolling, but not take the Royals lightly.

“It was a great win and much needed. We really wanted to try and secure a spot in top four so we were thrilled with the win,” O’Hehir said.

“I was pretty happy with how I played and it was just good to have a team effort. We all played well together and I think it was one of the best games we’ve played this season as a team. It was good fun.

“Now this week, one of the most important things is not to be too complacent. It all just comes down to not getting too ahead of yourself and we just have to take each game one step at a time, and we’ll be looking forward to this week to try and get another win under our belts.

“We definitely won’t be underestimating East Perth because we know they are a good team too.”
