South Fremantle 2015 WAFL fixtures

THE fixtures have been released for the 2015 WAFL season with South Fremantle’s campaign beginning on a Friday night at Fremantle Oval and including three derbies and two home games in the last three rounds that could set up a finals campaign.

South Fremantle has not played in the WAFL finals since 2011 but now with the league introducing a final five for 2015, there is an increased chance of that happening next year and the Bulldogs have made significant changes to try and make that happen.

Todd Curley has taken over as the new league coach for South Fremantle in 2015 with Cory Dell’Olio, Adam Carter and Kyle Hams coming back to the club with key recent interstate recruits Ryan Cook and James Sellar sticking around with the likelihood of at least one more signing in coming days.

Now South Fremantle’s fixture for the 2015 season has been released so the Bulldogs know exactly what lies ahead in an effort to return to finals action.

South Fremantle’s season will feature three matches each against East Fremantle, Peel Thunder, Subiaco and West Perth, and two each against Claremont, East Perth, Perth and Swan Districts.

Byes for the Bulldogs will come in Rounds 8, 15 and 21 with a break also for the State game against South Australia at Lathlain Park to take place on Saturday May 23.

That means that South Fremantle will have a 16-day break from playing Peel on May 16 until the Foundation Derby on WA Day against East Fremantle on June 1.

South Fremantle’s home matches will take place in Round 1 (West Perth), Round 3 (Claremont), Round 5 (Subiaco), Round 6 (East Fremantle, Anzac Day), Round 9 (Peel), Round 11 (Perth), Round 14 (Swan Districts), Round 18 (East Perth), Round 20 (Peel) and Round 22 (West Perth).

The actual times and days the games will be played are still yet to be officially confirmed but what is known is that the Round 1 clash with West Perth at Fremantle Oval will take place on Friday night under lights at the port with bounce down set for 6.40pm.
