South Fremantle Football Club launches Stephen Michael Foundation

Author: South Fremantle Football Club

The South Fremantle Football Club is proud to announce the launch of the Stephen Michael Foundation. The Foundation’s objective is to open up opportunities for the youth and young adults in our community and the overall South Fremantle Football Club’s zone, to assist those regardless of colour, ethnic background or social circumstances. We will support them on their football journeys and give them the opportunity to grow as people as well as footballers.

South Fremantle CEO Tom Bottrell said “Stephen Michael is regarded by many as the best player in the club’s history. The fact that he is equally as-good-a person gives fantastic credibility to the Foundation and we are thankful Stephen has agreed to be involved”.

Club President Haydn Raitt added “We are also extremely appreciative of Simone, Barry and Tony’s pledge of financial support and this funding will greatly assist us in achieving our goals with the Foundation. We need to be more than a football club and work with the community to help the youth via great programs in sport and healthy development”.

South Fremantle Football Club is also pleased to announce the Stephen Michael Foundation’s first partnership; Fremantle College opens its doors in 2018 and the Stephen Michael Foundation will deliver a specialist football program for students ranging from years 7 to 12. Fremantle College will have a strong focus on attracting young male and female footballers and South Fremantle Football Club, via this Foundation, will be there to help them develop both as players and as people.
