South Fremantle Women’s Team Review

Author: South Fremantle Football Club

A great effort was made on Saturday night for both female teams to come away with wins in some seriously trying conditions, that at times looked more like water polo than football.

It was a real credit to both teams in the way that they played out the game, neither side wanted to miss out on the 4 points and Subiaco took on the Bulldogs right to the end.

Full credit goes to the backline who held up and repelled the ball all night.

It was great to see the girls applying training out on the ground, and as a team they are starting to link up well and move the ball more efficiently into the forward line.

It was one of the hardest nights to choose a best on field performance, due to us having so many players stand up in these trying conditions.

It was also great that we got to give Jessica Nannup a victory send off for her last game at the club, Jessica will be relocating to Melbourne in the coming weeks.

SF 1.5.11 – Subi 1.3.9 Final Score

The Youth Girls were really excited about playing Saturday’s game straight after the South Fremantle League Men’s game, and even though the weather conditions were very wet the girls got off to a great start and led by 3 goals at qtr time.

With torrential rain for much of the game the girls managed to hold on to the lead for most of the game and ran out 27 point winners.

It was great to see Kara Turley return from injury for her first game of the season and played well across the half back line.

Taite Lantzke and Tayla Rose Whincup kicked 2 goals each and in very difficult conditions.

Our backline held strong all night and kept Subiaco to 2 goals.

Maddi Culver had a brilliant game in the wet and was voted best on ground.

SF 6.5.41 – Subi 2.2.14 Final
