Andrew McCarrey has today informed the club he will not be seeking an extension to his Rogers Cup coaching contract where he led them to a narrow Grand Final defeat this season.

The former East Fremantle and South Fremantle versatile key position player is a much respected and regarded former player and now coach with big shoes to fill for the incoming Rogers Cup Coach.

“Andrew McCarrey has left the Rogers Cup program in great shape after being at the helm for the last two seasons where he has identified and developed some outstanding talent that have either gone onto WAFLW or AFLW careers”. Head of Football Charlie Burke said.

“Andrew’s ability to connect with the young players and set high standards has been a real highlight during his tenure as coach and we do hope that we will still have him involved in some capacity at the club this season” Burke said.

Huge thank you to Andrew for all the work he has done coaching at the South Fremantle Football Club.

The club will advertise for a Rogers Cup coach shortly.
