WE’RE BACK – CEO UPDATE

Author: South Fremantle Football Club

To all our valued members, partners and stakeholders,

Footy’s back!

It may not completely look, or feel, like what we are all accustomed to, but the important point is that from August 1, the 2020 WAFL season will commence, and your Bulldogs will be ready.

All nine (9) WAFL Clubs, in conjunction with the WAFC, have agreed to commence a 9-round season, with each Club playing 4 home and 4 away games, with 1 bye, followed by a traditional finals format.

The delay is a further attempt to give our fans and partners the best opportunity to attend LIVE games, under the health restrictions that will be devised by the Government.

However, if crowds are not permitted, we are very committed, and will hence ensure, that the season is simply not abandoned.

Your Club, the ‘Premier Family Club’, will offer viewing options, enabling our ‘Fan Family’ to consume WAFL content, be it via Channel 7 broadcast or our own Club funded live streaming activities. When our home fixtured games are played, you will see them, in some capacity – that’s our commitment to you.

Since the very first day of this postponement, we have been resolute in leaving no stone unturned to ensure that we can provide some value and a sense of belonging and connection to the people that make our Club great – our supporters.

There is talk of an asterisk next to a Premiership awarded this season.

Our view?
It would be the most beautiful and hard earned asterisk in the history of sport.

We want it.
