Broadcast Deal WAFL Release

Following a meeting of the eight affected WAFL clubs’ Presidents and Chief Executives, all clubs fully endorse any proposed WAFC action to ensure the issue of West Perth games not being televised is resolved prior to the 2015 WAFL McDonalds finals series. 
 
We believe that it is in the best interests of the competition, clubs, our key partners and the wider football community – particularly those in regional areas, that the finals are televised.  We also believe that West Perth Football Club should be prepared to play televised finals and home and away matches without the rival network’s logo displayed on their jumper.  
 
We consider that reasonable attempts and proposals have been made to the West Perth Football Club and the rival network to resolve the issue, and that the West Perth Football Club will bring the game into disrepute should selected matches in which West Perth play, not be televised by the 7 Network.   
 
Finally, we strongly believe that both West Perth and the rival network are seriously jeopardising the broadcast of some finals matches including the grand final, as well as the Broadcast deal going forward and, as such, are united in our support of any action necessary to get to the desired outcome.
