THE South Fremantle Football Club remains committed to Friday night football at Fremantle Oval but have agreed to move the Round 23 clash to a Saturday afternoon to accommodate the requests made by the Peel Thunder Football Club.

South Fremantle played two Friday night matches earlier in the 2014 season at Fremantle Oval against Perth and East Perth, and had two scheduled for later in the year against Subiaco in Round 22 and Peel Thunder in Round 23.

The Round 22 clash with Subiaco will still be going ahead, but South Fremantle has agreed to move the final round match with Peel to Saturday afternoon with the best interests of the support staff of both clubs in mind.

SOUTH Fremantle turned the tables on losing from winning positions by coming from behind to win in stunning fashion over Peel Thunder on Saturday at Fremantle Oval thanks to mercurial 17-year-old Jarrod Pickett.

South Fremantle was coming off a terrific 43-point derby win over East Fremantle the week before while Peel also had winning form coming into the contest at Fremantle Oval after a thumping win over Perth the previous Saturday at Lathlain Park.

It was Peel who had opened up an 11-point advantage over South Fremantle by quarter-time with that stretching to as much as 28 points during the second quarter.

SOUTH Fremantle and Peel Thunder both can't make finals in 2014, but also look unlikely to be able to claim the wooden spoon either with each side coming into Saturday's clash at Fremantle Oval after thumping victories.

SIX teenagers from the South Fremantle Football Club and prolific goalkicking midfielder Haiden Schloithe have all been invited to the AFL's State and National Draft Combines putting themselves in prime position to end up being drafted later in 2014.

Out of the 30 WAFL players invited to attend the State and National Draft Combines later this year out of the 96 from across Australia, seven are from the South Fremantle Football Club.

Billy Frampton, Jarrod Garlett, Jermaine Miller-Lewis and Jarrod Pickett will all take part in the NAB AFL Draft Combine at Etihad Stadium from Tuesday September 30 to Friday October 3 while Matthew Ah Siu, Cameron Loersch and Haiden Schloithe will take part in the WA State Combine in Perth on October 12.

SOUTH Fremantle won its fourth straight match over East Fremantle at the newly named ATOM Stadium on Saturday with a commanding performance to end up prevailing by 43 points to win the Uittenbroek-Ciccotosto Cup.

South Fremantle kicked the first goal of the game at the newly named East Fremantle Oval and then were in control from the outset of the contest to beat the finals bound Sharks in terrific fashion, 16.12 (108) to 9.11 (65).

The victory backs up the Bulldogs' 17-point win over the Sharks also on Anzac Day as well on WA Day last year and then in the final derby of 2013 making it four successive victories at Shark Park.

SOUTH Fremantle will be looking to spoil a day of celebration for East Fremantle at East Fremantle Oval in the final derby of 2014 with the Bulldogs also out to continue their good run of form at the newly named ATOM Stadium.

South Fremantle is well and truly out of finals contention with just the four wins from 15 matches so far in 2014 but the Bulldogs will want to finish on a high and beating the Sharks would be a good way to start that, while also ensuring they won't be able to finish up with the wooden spoon.

Derbies between the two in recent times has also seen the visiting side enjoying most of the success which might not bode well for East Fremantle in its first home game at the newly named ATOM Stadium.

SOUTH Fremantle put in a strong showing in difficult conditions at Fremantle Oval against the second-placed Subiaco but in the end losing two key players hurt as the Lions finished the better to win by nine points.

South Fremantle worked its way on top of the contest through the second and third quarters to lead by as much as 14 points and still by 11 at three quarter-time, but having just two fit men on the bench for the last quarter proved costly.

The Bulldogs already came into the game without key experienced pair Ryan Cook and Adam Guglielmana, and then lost Ashton Hams early in the contest after he copped a poke in the eye after picking up six early possessions.
