SOUTH Fremantle has now won consecutive games for the first time this WAFLW season and is looking to make it three straight and potentially break into the top four when facing Subiaco on Saturday.

The Bulldogs have now strung back-to-back wins together to be knocking on the door of the top four with the chance to move into fourth place with a win against the Lions on Saturday.

The contest takes place at Leederville's Sullivan Logistics Stadium starting at 2.15pm on Saturday afternoon.

South Fremantle started the season with a tough draw and losing the first two games to the grand finalists of the last two years, Claremont and East Fremantle.

However, those two losses were only by a combined 18 points highlighting the competitiveness still of the Bulldogs before breaking through for a first win of 2024 against Peel Thunder in Round 3.

South Fremantle then lost to the then undefeated West Perth in Round 4 but have since beaten East Perth and Swan Districts by a combined 49 points to be building some momentum heading into Saturday's clash with the sixth placed Subiaco at Leederville.

Saturday's game Sullivan Logistics Stadium will be the first time that South Fremantle has played Subiaco this season, and the 10th time overall since the Bulldogs joined the WAFLW competition back in 2020.

While Subiaco beat South Fremantle in the first five meetings between the two teams, the Bulldogs broke through for the first time in 2022 against the Lions and now will be looking to beat them for the third time from those 10 clashes on Saturday afternoon.

The two contests in 2023 saw the two teams play out a draw to open the season before South Fremantle won by 19 points later in the season on the way to playing finals for the first time while the Lions missed out.

On the back of last Sunday's 14-point win at home to Swan Districts, South Fremantle is looking for a third consecutive win this Saturday with five changes made to the line-up.

Hope Arrowsmith, Zoe Huggett, Ella Matthews, Kate Newson and Annalie Polimeno come into the team for the Bulldogs.

Going out of the South Fremantle line-up are Tahleah Mulder, Pippa Sideris, Liusaidh Gilchrist, Makayla Cocking and Madizen Wilkins.

Subiaco has lost its past two matches and from the 10-point defeat to Claremont last week, Subiaco brings into the team Hayley Corlett, Joanne Cregg, Hali Epis, Meg McAullay and Krstel Petrevski.

Going out of the Lions team are Isabelle Starmer, Chloe Shearing, Lauren Vaisey, Holly Morris and Tess Lyons.

Meanwhile, South Fremantle's Rogers Cup team has the bye in Round 8 of the season on the back of last Sunday's 11-point victory against Swan Districts at Fremantle Community Bank Oval.

That result improved South Fremantle to a 3-4 record on the season in the Rogers Cup to be knocking on the door of a top four position.

The Bulldogs will next be in action in the Rogers Cup next Saturday morning up against East Perth at Leederville's Sullivan Logistics Stadium.
