RD 11 WAFLW PREVIEW | v WEST PERTH

South Fremantle got back on the WAFLW winner’s list last Saturday and now have the chance to return to the top four this Saturday when they take on West Perth at Fremantle Community Bank Oval.

The Round 11 WAFLW match up takes place on Saturday at Fremantle Community Bank Oval between South Fremantle and West Perth starting at 12:10pm.

It shapes as a big game in the context of the season for both teams too with West Perth currently sitting in fourth position with a 5-4 record to be just two points ahead of the fifth placed South Fremantle who have four wins, four losses and a draw.

Both teams are coming off wins last weekend too with the Bulldogs beating East Perth by 16 points on Saturday at Sullivan Logistics Stadium while the Falcons downed East Fremantle on Friday night by 43 points at Joondalup’s HIF Health Insurance Oval.

That means the winner of Saturday’s clash will be sitting in fourth position on the WAFLW ladder by the end of Round 11 in what is the second meeting between the two teams this season.

The first clash was back in Round 5 at Joondalup and on that occasion in a tight affair it was West Perth beating South Fremantle by eight points.

Tash Entwistle is having a massive first season in the midfield at South Fremantle averaging 22 possessions a game and she’s looking forward to Saturday’s match up with West Perth.

“They are a physical team and we definitely have to probably win this game if we want to play finals, but I think our team is very capable of doing it,” Entwistle told The Kennel on 91.3 SportFM.

“I think after East Freo we were a bit bummed with that loss, but definitely getting the win last week was the boost we definitely needed especially coming up against West Perth this week as well.

“It’s going to be a tough game so we definitely needed that win on Saturday.”

South Fremantle are fresh off beating East Perth last Saturday and from that team, Liusaidh Gilchrist comes into the team and going out is Tashuana Munn.

West Perth have made no changes to their team that beat East Fremantle last Friday night with their four emergencies Ella Feist, Ebony Jackson, Jorgina Kean and Chloe Metcalf.

The Rogers Cup gets the day’s action underway at Fremantle Community Bank Oval with South Fremantle taking on West Perth starting at 10:05am.

The Bulldogs are fresh off beating East Perth by 43 points last Saturday at Leederville while the Falcons went down to East Fremantle last Friday night at home in Joondalup by 17 points.

Coming into the Round 11 match up and South Fremantle currently sit in sixth position in the Rogers Cup with West Perth in seventh and both teams are sitting on identical 3-6 records.

Coming off that win last Saturday over the Royals, there are two changes to the South Fremantle team in the Rogers Cup with Alyssa Henerson and Olivia Henderson into the team.

Going out for the Bulldogs are Abbie Bootsma and Tanaya Prentice.

West Perth are trying to bounce back from last Friday’s loss with Zenniah Albonetti, Nataliah Bodney, Alexis Henderson, Amber McKeon, Amber Stickles and Scarlett Zoccali coming into the team.

Going out for the Falcons are Teah Houlihan, Indie Scott, Bella Matera, Zoe French, Sienna Dow and Jaime Knight.
