South Fremantle Women's Team Review
SATURDAY saw more great games by both female teams on what felt more like Spring rather than a Winter's day.
Unfortunately the South Fremantle Reserves were beaten by a senior East Fremantle team with better ball control on the day.
Coach Jason Elliott was happy with the way the girls played to the game plan and could see what the team had been working on in training.
The team has come along a long way this year and it’s great to see them this competitive against a strong senior team rival.
Aimee Harris was strong through the midfield and is starting to find plenty of the ball, she will work in well with current midfield Loz, Mel and Flash who all played competitive games as well.
Deni has been working really hard as a lone wolf in the ruck, hopefully with Susan scheduled to come back after bye and Olivia possibly in three weeks we can utilise Deni as a forward more throughout games.
From the Youth Girls side in the Rogers Cup contest, the girls were asked to take the game on they were able to give the forwards plenty of inside 50s.
The final result was a reflection of the girls playing as a team and working with each other for the full four quarters, the exciting brand of football that is being played is fantastic to watch.
The Pickett twins finished with five goals between them and Reidy and Lantzke kicked two goals each.
Our back-line players and midfielders had awesome games and Del Borrello was best on ground with her great performance on a wing .
South Fremantle Seniors 1.7 (13) lost to East Fremantle 4.5 (29)
South Fremantle Rogers Cup 12.10 (82) defeated 1.1 (7)
A special good luck to Milla Bickmore and Eilish Grundon who will both be playing for the representative team this weekend. Good luck girls.
