THINGS have got to must-win status in the WAFLW for South Fremantle with three rounds of the season remaining so that winning has to start at home to Subiaco on Saturday afternoon.

As part of a monster WA Day long weekend of football at Fremantle Community Bank Oval will be the WAFLW Round 14 match up on Saturday afternoon with South Fremantle playing host to Subiaco.

It's a crucial game in the context of the season for both clubs as well with just three rounds of the home and away campaign remaining.

Going into the Round 14 match up and South Fremantle currently sits in sixth position with a 4-7 record and Subiaco is in fifth at 5-6 so Saturday's context is virtually a knockout affair as both teams try and stay in touch with the top four.

Swan Districts currently occupies that fourth position with a 6-5 record so a win for South Fremantle on Saturday will see the Bulldogs stay right in touch with Swans especially if they go on to lose to the league-leading East Fremantle on Sunday afternoon.

South Fremantle has now lost the last four games of the season to East Perth, Claremont, Swan Districts and West Perth, but that is a little misleading as to the form the Bulldogs are in.

In total, those four defeats came at a combined total of just 18 points with the biggest margin the 11 points against Swans while the other three defeats have come by four, one and two points respectively.

So despite losing those past four matches, South Fremantle has had a chance to win them and will look to convert that into a victory against a Subiaco team on a three-game winning streak on Saturday afternoon as part of the WA Day long weekend.

From the Bulldogs team that lost a heartbreaker by two points last week, Zina Fetahagic, Alira Fotu and Kahra Sprlyan come into the team to play Subiaco.

Going out for South Fremantle are Hannah Young, Jasmine Bazeley and Ella Matthews.

Subiaco beat Peel Thunder by 43 points last week and from that team, Tess Lyons, Aimee Schmidt and Tiah Toth come in to take on the Bulldogs.

Going out are Dahna Lee, Taya Strickland and Lauren Vaisey.

Round 14 in the Rogers Cup will also see South Fremantle play host to Subiaco at Fremantle Community Bank Oval on Saturday with the game to get underway at 10.35am.

The Bulldogs come into the game sitting in fifth position on the Rogers Cup ladder and needing the win to remain right in the finals hunt with two rounds of the season remaining after this weekend.

South Fremantle currently sits fifth at 6-5 to be a behind the fourth placed Swan Districts but also with three games to play and Swans only having two so a win on Saturday will go a long way towards the Bulldogs playing finals in the Rogers Cup in 2024.

South Fremantle is coming off a loss to the rampaging West Perth last Saturday with Hope Arrowsmith, Jasmine Bazeley, Makayla Kickett, Ella Matthews, Coco McGrath and Hannah Young all coming into the team.

Going out for the Bulldogs are Tylah Foreman, Emily Sax, Ava Cuffe-Hodges, Khesan Starr, Zarlya Yarran and Niamh Sherry.

Subiaco lost to Perth also last Sunday in the Rogers Cup with Alivia Becvarovski, Nisreen Marouff, Meg McAullay, Kaiya Paull, Taya Strickland and Kayley Thomas coming into the side to face South Fremantle.

Going out for the Lions are Darcey Edwards, Sharlize Gillard, Ella Andrew, Chloe Gidgup, Lilijana Nosow and Lacey McKay.
