WAFLW and Rogers Cup Leadership

Monday, February 17, 2025 - 4:14 PM

The Club is proud to announce the leadership teams for our WAFLW and Rogers Cup sides ahead of the upcoming season.

WAFLW LEADERSHIP GROUP
Leading the WAFLW squad once again is Lauren Vecchio, who will continue in her role as Co-Captain for her sixth season at the helm. A true icon of the Club, Lauren's legacy is cemented with the prestigious Vecchio-Smith Medal named in her honour for the Derby.

Joining Lauren as Co-Captain is Hunter Cronin, who steps up after serving as Vice-Captain last year. Hunter's leadership qualities shone throughout 2024, earning her the Community Award at the Club's Best and Fairest night. She also spent time as a train-on player with Fremantle, further developing her skills.

Supporting the Co-Captains is newly appointed Vice-Captain Caitlin Pears. A defensive cornerstone, Caitlin's consistency and reliability have earned her a promotion into this key position.

Rounding out the leadership group is Emerging Leader Ebony Grant. In just her second year of WAFLW football, Ebony has impressed throughout the pre-season, showcasing her development both on and off the field. She has established herself as a strong voice among the younger players, earning her a well-deserved place in the leadership group.

ROGERS CUP LEADERSHIP GROUP
The Rogers Cup side will once again be led by Captain Poppy James, returning for her second year in the role after a stellar 2023 season where she finished second in the Rogers Cup Best and Fairest.

Supporting Poppy is Vice-Captain Lina Morrone, who also returns to her leadership role for another season.

Joining the group for the first time are Madi Hadley and Nicole Taylor-Thorpe, both bringing fresh energy and commitment to the leadership team.

The Club congratulates Lauren, Hunter, Caitlin, Ebony, Poppy, Lina, Madi, and Nicole on their appointments and looks forward to their leadership guiding both teams to success in 2025.
