Home pre-season clash this Saturday
SOUTH Fremantle steps out onto Fremantle Oval for the first match of 2013 when it hosts West Perth during the second week of WAFL pre-season action on Saturday.
It will be a full day of action at Fremantle Oval against the Falcons as well with the colts contest starting at 9am, the reserves at 4pm and the league contest under lights at 6.30pm.
The clash on Saturday will be the first of two straight home pre-season matches for the Bulldogs leading into the Saturday March 16 home and away season-opener against reigning premier Claremont at Claremont Oval.
Next Saturday, South Fremantle will take on last year's preliminary finalists Swan Districts as preparations kick fully into gear for a season proper that promises so much for the Bulldogs in Paul Hasleby's second year in charge as coach.
South Fremantle had its first hit out for 2013 last Saturday against Perth at Lathlain's Brownes Stadium with some encouraging signs.
Former Port Adelaide midfielder Mitch Banner was outstanding with 29 possessions and two goals with experienced midfielders Ryan Cook, Kris Miller and Toby Bairstow looking good.
Sean Tighe was good in the ruck and Reece Adams and Craig White, both premiership players together in 2009, made impressive returns after a year away from the club in 2012.
With some more new faces and returning players set to take on the Falcons on Saturday, we encourage all Bulldogs fans to get down to Fremantle Oval to see how the team is shaping up for a huge 2013 campaign for the mighty Red V.
