Brian Ciccotosto awarded WAFC Life Membership
The West Australian Football Commission has announced that Life Membership will be awarded to long-serving SFFC football identity Brian Ciccotosto along with Ken Casellas and Denis Marshall at the WAFC Life Members’ Association Christmas Luncheon on Tuesday December 3.
Induction to the WAFC Life Members’ Association is regarded as the WAFC’s highest level of recognition, distinct from life membership awarded by individual football clubs and associated bodies, and is awarded to individuals who have made an outstanding overall contribution to football.
WAFC Chairman Frank Cooper said he was delighted that such worthy recipients would be bestowed the prestigious honour of WAFC Life Membership in 2013. “They have all given a lifetime of service to football and their significant impact on the game makes them thoroughly deserving of this honour,” he said.
Brian was nominated due to:
- 50 years of service to South Fremantle Football Club as a player, coach and administrator
- 211 League games 1967- 1978, captain 1975-77
- 1970 Premiership player and Simpson Medal winner
- South Fremantle Best Clubman Award 1971
- State Games, All-Australian 1972
- South Fremantle Life Membership 1977
- Coached back-to-back Colts Premierships 1984 & 1985
- South Fremantle Football Development officer 1985 – 1989
- Fremantle Hall of Legends 1988
- General Manager South Fremantle Football Club 1989 – 2005
- CEO South Fremantle Football Club 2005 – 2012
