Bulldogs ground manager receives award
THE South Fremantle Football Club is delighted to announce that long-time Fremantle Oval ground manager Steve McCarthy has received a Pride of Workmanship award from the Rotary Club of Fremantle.
McCarthy received the prestigious award at a ceremony on Wednesday night as recognition of the outstanding work he has done at Fremantle Oval for the South Fremantle Football Club over a long period of time now.
He has now been in charge or maintaining and looking after Fremantle Oval for the Bulldogs for a number of years and continues to do an outstanding job.
McCarthy has proven himself to be a committed and hard working member of the South Fremantle Football Club who always displays a strong sense of ethics and values both in terms of his personal and professional life.
McCarthy's ability to build trusting and productive relationships with his peers is a major factor in his initial nomination for the award, and then indeed in being presented with the Pride of Workmanship award from the Rotary Club of Fremantle on Wednesday night.
The hard-working and dedicated McCarthy continues to do an outstanding job in presenting Fremantle Oval all-year round for the players, members and general public that attend for the South Fremantle Football Club.
McCarthy's areas of responsibility include the grounds, toilets, car park, function centre, members bar, change rooms and the offices, and he does a terrific job keeping them in a presentable state.
McCarthy also looks after the Fremantle Oval scoreboard whenever South Fremantle is playing a WAFL game at the venue during the season.
