Southerners Forever More wins publishing award

THE recently-published 'Southerners Forever More' history book chronicling the first six decades of the South Fremantle Football Club is now an award-winning publication.

'Southerners Forever More: the triumphs and tribulations of South Fremantle's first six decades' was released earlier this year and was recently entered in the Published Award for Fremantle Local History Awards for 2014.

The publication claimed first prize in the published award category in the City of Fremantle and Town of East Fremantle Local History Awards for 2014 as presented to author Dr Steve Errington by Fremantle mayor Brad Pettitt and East Fremantle mayor Jim O'Neill.

The 'Southerners Forever More' history book was researched and written by noted West Australian historian – and lifelong South Fremantle supporter – Dr Steve Errington.

The book not only tracks the fortunes of the club from 1900 to 1959 but also gives an insight into the impact that the major events of the period, including World War I and World War II, and the Great Depression, had on the South Fremantle Football Club.

So, if you don’t have your copy of the book yet then you now have another inceptive to add it to your collection with it being an award-winning publication.
