South Fremantle announces financial turnaround at AGM
THE South Fremantle Football Club hosted its Annual General Meeting at Fremantle Oval on Friday night and was delighted to announce a financial turnaround of more than $200,000 from 2013.
President Haydn Raitt and the entire Board have overseen a significant turnaround for the South Fremantle Football Club and with the management of chief executive Stuart Kemp proving on point, the Bulldogs are delighted to be able the huge turnaround for 2014.
Nobody was more disappointed than the club itself with the $299,290 loss of 2013, but a significant turnaround of $208,160 for 2014 has seen South Fremantle only record a $91,130 loss for the year but the signs are all heading in the right direction of that being in the positive in 2015.
Chief executive Kemp acknowledged that it wasn’t easy to achieve the resultant turnaround and it doesn’t mean that the club can afford to be complacent going forward, but it was still a significant achievement that was based on a number of factors.
"Following the extremely difficult financial year in 2013, I am happy to announce that will have at the time of writing this approximately a $200,000 turn-around from 2013," Kemp said.
"Revenues streams in 2014 have been difficult however we are always searching for new partners and new events. We are excited about the prospect of the Advertising screen and the alternate revenue streams this will bring. This will be a major focus for us moving forward.
"On field performance does have a correlation to the financial performance of the organisation and I now feel our senior list is not too far away from some sustained success.
"With this in mind we are hoping with more success will come more opportunities in our memberships and gate numbers and will definitely aid in the procurement of new sponsorship.
"Finally, we will continue to carry out a policy of tight fiscal management and aim to streamline expenses while increasing our revenue streams. In a difficult year we do see light at the ‘end of the tunnel’ and maintain the financial fight like all other WAFL clubs are."
