SOUTH Fremantle might have gone down to the unbeaten reigning premiers Claremont on Saturday, but there were still some encouraging performances at Fremantle Oval and some strong outings in the reserves could have several players in the frame for a Foundation Day derby call up.

THE good news for South Fremantle out of last week was that the Bulldogs recorded their first win of 2013, the bad news is that waiting for them in response is the unbeaten, two-time reigning premiers Claremont at Fremantle Oval on Saturday.
SOUTH Fremantle coach Paul Hasleby was relieved to get the Bulldogs' first win of the season over Peel but was most proud that his team responded to being challenged in the third quarter to run away with the 15-point victory.

A SLIPPERY Fremantle Oval greeted the Peel and Bulldogs colts sides on Saturday. The Souths team were the first to adapt and set up a match-winning lead during a slick and effervescent first quarter.
A dominant display was only a teaser of how good this group could be when all the stars line up to play. With quick ball movement through the midfield and silky skills, the Bulldogs put immense pressure on the Peel backline.
